description： Exterior view of Syrian Jableh New Spinning Mill In accordance with the stipulations of Syria tender invitation, on 9 Nov. 1995 our Corporation submitted bidding documents on Syria Jableh New Spinning Mill General Contracting Project to General Organization of Textile Industry in Syria. After one and half year’s hard effort and negotiation, on 30 Apr. 1997 Contract No.5/97 was formally signed. The work started from 22 Sept. 1997 with the contracted time limit of 30 months. Jableh New Spinning Mill is the biggest spinning project in the Middle East, with a total of 226,560 spindles, 2,592 rotors, as well as other complete utilities such as water, electricity, gas, A/C plant, etc. The total civil construction area is 136,939 square meters including 33 buildings and annex. The project had undergone several main phases of erection, mechanical test, running-in test, provisional acceptance test, quality guarantee period and final acceptance, and completed and fulfilled the obligations of the Contract. The establishment of Syria Jableh New Spinning Mill has further improved the development of Syria’s textile industry, which is manifested from the following aspects: The establishment of Syria Jableh New Spinning Mill has brought 4,000 job opportunities for Syrian society, and played most important role in Syria’s cotton spinning industry. The reasonable price with fine quality of Chinese equipments has saved a lot of investment for Syria. The annual production of 300,000-ton of raw cotton in Syria used to be mostly exported before. The establishment and operation of Jableh New Spinning Mill has increased domestic consumption of raw cotton, which in one hand has satisfied the growing demand of Syrians for textiles, and in the other hand has raised the value added to export products to create more foreign currency income for Syria. The products of Jableh New Spinning Mill have reliable quality, and 70% has been exported to E.U. countries. Thus the quality reputation for cotton spinning products of Syria has been further promoted in international market, while the export of other Syrian products also has been promoted.
